The IMIX trecena has initiated our new beginning with a journey of self-discovery. I expect I’m only beginning to find the limits I’ve set for myself, based on precepts as flimsy as tissue paper. Our greatest obstacles are self-imposed. Where do we get the idea that manifesting our dreams has to be so hard?
Tone 9 calls for our patience and persevere so we can see the bigger picture. As children, we imagine our dreams without any thought of failure. Somewhere we stopped believing in ourselves. Our limitations weren’t hard to find, though discovering the underlying motives requires us to open our hearts.
THE TRECENA OF CROCODILE/IMIX
9 Offering/MULUC (Cherokee, The River/YUN’WI GUNNAHI’TA)
Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.
Offering/MULUC: Also known as the sign of water. Ceremonially, Maya use water as an offering in baptisms and purifications. These ceremonies are done to bring about a collective strength, adaptability and harmony. In sincere appreciation, Offering people gladly give more than they ask for themselves. Offering persons are dynamic communicators with great intelligence making them excellent employers. Like a shaken vessel of water, Offering people regain equilibrium quickly. Also like a body of water, there may be deep undercurrents of emotion and hidden dangers. Others perceive these as hidden agendas in offering people and so extend them little trust and may even slap blame on them.
Offering/MULUC is a Day Sign that gets us in touch with our emotions. Like the Moon that pulls the tide, Muluc can pull our emotions to the surface.
The Cherokee Day Sign of The River is the “Fountain of Life” that represents the fluid of the cosmos to the fluids in our body. As a water symbol imbued with the element of Fire, Muluc brings healing and purification through Holy water. We can purify ourselves through a ritual of water. We can receive the purification of water as descending light, or we can be purified by the water of our own tears. Through the clearing of our emotional body we are prepared for our next level of transformation.
To all my relations, may we be willing to open our hearts. Only as we surrender our sorrow are we able to be restored to the joy of our childlike innocence.
