MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Sun/AHAU brings illumination to all things. We’ve been learning ways to command our own destiny. Just as we might learn any new behavior or skill, the task is easiest to master when we break it down step by step.
In the movie “Karate Kid” Miyagi promises to teach Daniel karate. In the beginning Daniel was frustrated when his primary assignments were to paint fences and wax cars. “Wax on, Wax off.” Only later did Daniel see how the seemingly unrelated movements would be brought together for his personal empowerment.
This is a day to take our time and look at the bigger picture.
THE TRECENA OF ROAD/EB
Sun/AHAU (Cherokee, Flower/GUN’TSI EK)
Galactic Tone 9: Patience. The energy of Nine is one of the getting a better perspective of the bigger picture. With the energy of Nine plans or patterns begin to come to completion. Nine requires patience and perseverance that is found in the bigger picture, otherwise there is great suffering from the lack of insight. The completion of cycles of action is all-important to Nine.
Sun/AHAU: Day of the ancestors and connection to their guidance. The divine face of the sun – lord, musician, singer, dancer, and marksman. Suns are artistic, heroic athletes, visionaries with wise judgment who lead and defend the people. So much is expected from themselves and by other people that unfulfilled expectations are a certainty. An accumulation of these disappointments may lead Sun to evade responsibilities, not accept corrections and even build resentment and disdain towards others. Suns should simplify their lives to be able to rise and shine with unconditional love once again.
Commanding our Destiny: Day 9
9 Sun/AHAU is a peak energy with the purpose of bringing something to completion. Sun illuminates anything in darkness and brings every thing to Light. Sun/AHAU is considered the highest Day Sign and as a peak day may present an intense energy. This is another reason to slow down.
Reaching our Destiny is not a race to a finish line. We can be all consumed by where we are heading without paying attention to how we get there. The meaning in our lives is all about the journey.
Sun/AHAU is the day of the ancestors. May we honor those who have walked this way before.
To all my relations, may we be mindful to remember our journey is not made alone. May we strive to live in the moment of God’s presence to find our highest power. This is a day to honor our ancestors who walked this way before.

How are you experiencing the Road/EB trecena?
I’ve required a lot more rest over the past couple of weeks. I’ve also come close to taking a couple of spills… the vacuum cleaner cord tried to take me down. This is always a sign for me to slow down and pay attention. Slow steady steps.
I love to hear from you. Share your thoughts on the day, your Day Sign, or just say Hi!
