8 Serpent/CHICCHAN – Womb of Creation Day 8

Greetings Kin,

“Serpent lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself.” Cherokee Calendar

We are ignited to fulfill our life’s purpose by the consciousness of Spirit in the body. Serpent/ CHICCHAN serves as a catalyst to fire our supernatural senses that the Maya call “lightening in the blood.” This is a subtle, yet powerful energy that offers us the Sixth Sense of Spirit.

Numbers 8 and 9 have a particularly sacred meaning to the Maya. The Quiche/Maya of Guatemala hold their most important festivals on these days. Tone 8 is defined as a Solar Number of Pure Spirit, and 8 Serpent/CHICCHAN (Kaan, in the Mayan/Quiche language) is recognized as a Holy Day of Spiritual Strength.

Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement ‘as above, so below,’ from simplicity to infinity, the energy of eight organizes all levels of creation, some eights are ‘neat freaks.’

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet.

Womb of Re-Creation Day 8

8 Serpent/CHICCHAN brings justice through balance and harmony. An awakening of our spiritual instincts brings balance to a Divine Intention, “as above, so below.”

Though we may be aware of instinctual behavior in the animal world, we fail to recognize these gifts within ourselves. What separates us from the animals is an intellect that poses the potential for our distraction. This is a gift we can only sense by paying attention.

The coincidences in our lives reveal the clues of our spiritual senses – times we picked up the phone just as a friend was about to call, or perhaps more profoundly, when we were guided away from a potential danger. We overlook the true extent of our spiritual nature. And worse, many of our sources of distraction would convince us we have no power at all.

This is a very important day to hold the vision of our own Divine Nature. We are called to lay down the weight of the world. Just as animals sense the seasons and direction for their migration, we are also created so we may be guided by Spirit.

8 Serpent/CHICCHAN brings the intention of recognizing our own Spiritual Power. This is the peak energy of this trecena that engages us with the momentum of descending energy where we become the conduit for a Divine Intention of God.

To all my relations, may we light the candles on our sacred altars to honor the gift of Divine Spirit. May we accept our own Divinity as the greatest of all God’s gifts, empowering the most important purpose for our creation.

    • Maybe I didn’t reply in the right place… so this might be a duplicate: “Red Letter Day” is a figure of speech here that means a very special day. There was so much about 8 Chicchan that seemed so powerful as a peak day during the core days – really a catalyst day for a spirit awakening. I would think you would have a great talend for motivating/inspiring others.

  3. Dear Debra! 🙂 Looking at your wonderful description of Chicchan 8 again, I’ve realized I need some understanding about what it means to ” lay down the weight of the world”? Could you please give me some in-depth explanation? Cause it resonates with me in some ways but still want to really know and understand more.

    • Hi Duru – Tone 8, the High Holy day is a day of Divine Justice. This is the point in the 13-day cycle when all the work you’ve done toward the intention of that cycle is balance (tone 7) and then on 8 – Spirit reciprocates – returning the Spiritual Support that’s been “earned.” Laying down weight of the world means to let go and let God. Chicchan is always about being ignited with spirit that is felt in the body – a quickening, or any kind of physical response to spirit – think goosebumps, hair raising, physical symptoms of “knowing.” If I were trying to get in touch with “8 chicchan” energy – I’d start paying attention to my body. Start easy – recognize that when you are hungry, you body is speaking to you. Acknowledge it as a “message” and feed it. Let it know you are listening – and you will experience more. It’s something to think on and see if any of those aspects relate to the way you operate. I would also search on “serpent chicchan” to find as many different descriptions that might reveal something new. Also, you were born in the “trecena of Flint ETZNAB” (the Tone 1 that preceeded your Day Sign on the Tzolkin chart); if you search on that you’d see the meaning of that whole cycle – and a context for your purpose. This whole cycle is about clarity, truth, seeing things the way they are. Seems like you would have some psychic ability. There’s a lot to look at but these are the most important things. I will be adding readings some day, when I get on top of something other things I’m working on. Hopefully that gives you a direction for research. Good to see your face. 🙂

  4. I’ve been researching all about Chicchan and Etznab for 5 years so I have all the other perspectives from the ones I’ve encountered but yours is so good – I mean it! 😉 Thanks a lot Debra, this really helped. Good to see your smile too! 🙂

    • I’m glad it helped. It sounds like you’re doing it! It took me several years to ‘get’ myself. I didn’t relate to my own sign at first. Next time you have a conversation with Spirit, tell 8 chicchan you want to know more. 🙂 blessings – you have the ability to ignite spirit in others. Debra
