MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Our new beginning is initiated by Wind/IK, the Day Sign that symbolizes the Breath of Spirit and Breath of Life. The world was brought into being through the Power of the Spoken Word. The Wind/IK trecena can lead us to a new understanding about the special gift we were given through the Power of Communication.
Wind/IK is the Breath of Life and Spirit that can be felt through gentle breezes and heard as mighty winds and hurricanes. Air is the element through which we were given the Power of Creation and the Facility for New Life.
GREEN KIN: The trecena of Wind/IK is initiated on a portal day, Kin 222. Portal days magnify our experience and bring a thinning of the veil that separates us from the Holy of Holies. In numerology, 222 represents a master number that has to do with balance, manifesting miracles, and new opportunities.
1 Wind/IK initiates a new journey of Truth of the power we hold to Create our Own Experience. The Gift of the great “I Am” is born upon the Breath of our Spoken Words. We were Given the Gift of Communication so that we might share the Highest Expression of ourselves and bring Healing to the World.
At Tone 1 we stand in unity with everything that is. We are opened to draw a new inspiration from Divine Spirit. As the Element of Air, Wind/IK gives us a way to connect through our Sacred Breath. Through our breath we are given a way to draw healing and to express and share a new Sacred Intention, our first movement to manifest a new Creation.
Tone 1 asks us to offer ourselves to a time of silence and reflection where we are open to hear the Voice of Spirit. We can connect with the Element of Air as we spend time in the Natural World. Wind holds the power to speak directly to our Soul. No words are even necessary.
IK is a Day Sign of cleansing and purification. This is a day to pray for the strength and commitment to fulfill our Life Purpose and the perseverance to heal our own Shadow. IK offers the energy to clear the mind of negative thoughts, resentments and depression.
To all my relations, may we initiate ourselves into a new journey. May we reset our altars and offer ourselves fully to a new experience, believing in miracles. May we be swept clean, purified and made whole by the power of the Wind. And, may we be brought to a Higher Understanding of the Power of our Spoken Words to re-create ourselves and to heal the world where we live.

THE TRECENA OF WIND/IK
1 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
GREEN DAY: 1 Wind/IK, Kin 222 is a Portal Day that magnifies what is focused on. Portal Days are described as a thinning of the veil and opening to other dimensions. You may have more intense feelings. You or people around you may exhibit more sensitive behavior. You may experience an intuition or knowing.
Galactic Tone 1: Unity. One is the beginning of all things, the first, the whole and the all in one. One’s are assertive and self-guided and give a good push to whatever project they are associated with. One persons work best when meeting a challenge. Do not expect One-persons to be attentive to details or to put the finishing touches on things.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe, the channel of communication that carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit.
