4 Monkey / CHUEN – Vision Quest: Day 4

4 Monkey / CHUEN

4 Monkey / CHUEN

Greetings Kin,

Monkey is the magician of the Tzolk’in who has the power to create time. The glyph illustrates “time rolled up” on the head of Monkey. All time is created by the movement of matter. We measure Our Time by the movement of the Earth around the Sun. Monkey has the intellect and imagination as the “Master of all Arts” to see how time is woven together to become an abstract thing of beauty.

Monkey/CHUEN loves all the colors just the same. Colors of darkness and light are equally important for the purpose of creating contrast and definition. With the ability to see time “rolled up” together, Monkey can share its talent of seeing the “whole picture.” The playful, artful, and curious Monkey teaches us to create magic by envisioning ourselves as an abstract work of Art. The sum total of our movement is an expression of who we are as a “single event” – a rolled up work of Art.

Human is the Only Living Creation with the Consciousness to Travel through Time. We have the power to experience time in the future, in the past, and in the moment. Our power to travel through time is a blessing we rarely consider, yet this gift is the principle tool we use to create the meaning and purpose of our lives – the expression of our beauty.

The intention of Tone 4 is to bring stability to our 13-day Quest of Self Awareness. Tone 4 sets the parameters and means through which to affect a process or operation. Monkey shares the Art to Know Ourselves through a perception of Time.

Monkey can free us from being stuck in time. We can often look no further than the challenge presenting itself in the moment. We are focusing on one dark color in our ‘work of art’ instead of looking at all the colors together. We can draw ourselves into an awareness of the whole picture by looking to the future and the past.

The Power in a dedicated practice of keeping a daily journal is in the recording of our own time. As I look back at my journal to 4 Monkey/CHUEN, memories of the last Star/LAMAT trecena come flooding in. I was going through a crisis of self-identity. I had made the proverbial “trip back home” and was faced with perceptions of who I was stuck in long-past history. I had to face the reality that those I Love were never likely to see me for the total of who I am.

This very heartache brings comfort to me now. I can see it as part of the chaos of a major life change. This darkness was an energy that moved me to the light of my own Discovery of Self. It gave me a contrast for measurement and also revealed the source of long-held and inaccurate perceptions of myself. I can see these events now as one of my most important changes in progress. It was the beginning toward the freedom of standing in my own Truth.

Monkey/CHUEN holds an affinity with the Dog/OC. We are reminded again to face life as a playful adventure. Monkey adds the magic of curiosity and interest through the special ability to change and focus its attention. Continuing our movement forward in Unconditional Love of the Dog, Monkey reveals the Beauty of Love when it extends the consideration of time.

4 Monkey/CHUEN establishes the stability for a Self Realization based on a total accounting of our movement through time. We are called to see our own whole picture and to see that who we are in the moment, is only a moment of our time. Time offers us the power of all possibility.

We maintain right relationship by viewing others in the same way. Everyone is something more than the challenges they face in the moment. As we continue to move in the Spirit of Dog’s Unconditional Love, we offer the special gift of experiencing others as also in a process of Becoming.

To all my relations, may we use our gift to see into the future and the past. May we look back to see how far we’ve come. May we see ourselves and others as a work of abstract art… something that holds no recognizable form in the Natural World, and can only be conceived through a Vision of Spirit. May the Love we share include seeing one another with a perception of Time that acknowledges the Truth that we are all still Becoming.

THE TRECENA OF STAR/LAMAT

4 Monkey/CHUEN (Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI)

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.

Monkey/CHUEN: Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time. Monkey takes ideas as threads of vines and weaves them into the fabric of our reality. New patterns or inventions are also woven into our lives by Monkey. Amiable, intelligent, generous and a jack of all trades, Monkey’s innocent curiosity leads to artistic expression and constructive solutions. Many Monkeys become highly respected merchants or speakers. They love performing practical jokes and crave attention, so much so that they may over-act or play the fool to get the spotlight. Monkeys have a short attention span and find it difficult to stay with anything long enough to master it.

Cherokee, Raccoon/KVH’LI: Star Symbol: Algol, a star in Perseus. Restless energy yearning for long-lost love. Algol was named DEMON STAR or MISCHIEVOUS ONE by the Ancients because it winks and fades at times. Raccoon is full of friendly mischief, eager to swap kisses for candy. Magnetic leaders, full of humor and gaiety. Favorite food is corn, the mainstay of the Cherokee. Very artistic while being the “masked bandit” who steals your heart.

  1. I haven’t gone home yet… Since moving. I know love of place will overwhelm me in a good way, but the judgements and messages of the Deep South – well I am trying to prepare myself for those to crash in on me. I expect to visit in two or three months. Thanks for sharing how it affects you to visit “back home.”
