MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
We reach the pinnacle of our climb on 7 Deer/MANIK. At the peak of the pyramid we find our balance through an assessment from where we are. As the Day Sign of the Mayan Priest, Deer reminds us that We are Divine Agents. We are called to stop and recognize our Purpose for Being.
7 Deer/MANIK illustrates the Master Number 77 (Tone 7, Position 7). “Number 7 relates to inner-wisdom and intuition, contemplation and discernment, understanding of others, inner-strength and tenacity. 77 acknowledges an accomplishment in our empathetic and psychic abilities, and our determination for Spiritual Enlightenment and the Awakening to our True Life Purpose.” [Sacred Scribes] This corresponds with Tone 7 as the mirror that holds the accurate reflection of our own image.
Our first peak experience… the first priority in our new process of Becoming, reveals that we are made in the image of the Creator. At Tone 7 we receive Divine Acknowledgement of our Intention to serve a Higher Purpose. We are able to see ourselves as the Hands of God in the world. We stand ready to receive a Supernatural Blessing.
The IMIX trecena is working to ignite a new way of thinking. As IMIX presents inspiration and thoughts that seem to come from every direction, we are given Evidence of our Connection to a Source outside of ourselves.
Deer/MANIK is the Day Sign of Spiritual Tools. Deer shows us a Way through the Spiritual Tool of vigilance. Deer’s strength is found in standing silently in it’s own Truth and Authority. Ever-watchful, Deer Knows when to move by paying attention through all of its senses. As we are guided to Pay Attention to our own senses of Intuition and Knowing, we are elevated by a new understanding. At the peak of the pyramid we can see clearly in all directions. By being Fully Present at this Moment we can Know precisely where our inspiration is coming from.
Our Divine Mother, IMIX, knows our Nature to question our own thinking. At the peak of our discovery, we are guided by the Day Sign capable to push away bad influences and negative energies so we may rise above our own self-perceived limitations.
Deer is a Day Sign who defends the people and makes sacrifices for others. The Gift of our Spiritual Senses is ignited as we adopt this Higher Purpose. The glyph of MANIK illustrates a Hand with the forefinger and thumb closing the connection of a Divine Circuit. As we offer our Hands in Divine Service we forge an Eternal Bond to the Source of Every Spiritual Gift we are meant to receive. We only have to show up to understand our life’s experience has Always Held the Secret of a Divine Meaning and Purpose.
Don Alejandro, the Spiritual Elder of the Maya, teaches, “we are all fingers of the Same Hand.” Together we are One Body of Spirit. Our Creator is the Head and we are the Hands.
To Deer, Silence is a Spiritual Experience in itself. As we silence our own reasoning-mind, we are opened to the engagement of our Gifts of Intuition and Knowing. This is a day to expect a Miracle of Spirit.
To all my relations, may we Reflect in Vigilant Silence to listen for the Still Small Voice that guides us. May we Know this Voice comes through our Connection to a Supernatural Source. May our limited False Image of Self be swept away by the clarity of seeing our Constant Connection to the Divine. As we offer ourselves in Divine Service, may we Experience the Power that lies in our own Hands to bring Blessings to the Whole.

7 Deer/MANIK (Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi)
Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.
Deer/MANIK (Hand): Deer are spirit tools. Silence itself is a spiritual experience for Deer. For Deer life is a pilgrimage. Deer are dominant persons who defend the people and will make sacrifices for others. The spirit of Deer upholds the pillars of the four directions. With the power inherent in the number four, Deer pushes away bad influences or negative energies. Skill and quality of work are very important to Deer. They are presented with tools for every task in life and it is with these that they are able to rise above limitations. Deer has a habit of keeping every tool it has ever used. This leads to clutter and indecision, loss and procrastination. When confronted with promises not kept, Deer becomes stubborn, manipulative and evasive.
Cherokee, Deer/Ahwu’sdi: Symbolized by Constellation Galagina, the Stag, known as Taurus, the Bull. It does not include the Pleiades and Hyades clusters which in Cherokee are viewed as separate. To feed, gatherers of food and supplies, they enjoy rituals, ceremonials, feasts, the souls of hospitality, sociability. Freedom versus security issues often inspire leadership and unique solutions. Combined with artistic and inspiring energies in harmony with lunar cycles, they nourish the clans. Totem-Deer: A priest or shaman, a powerful person in general, to overwhelm an individual with one’s personal power, divination; inclined to become a teacher, healer, guru, civic leader, or politician. Ability to create harmonic resonance.
