MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Our Journey of Possibility began as our New Consciousness was reborn into the world. IMIX, the energy of the Divine Mother, holds the Purpose and Duty to show us our Way. On the Manifesting Tone 10, we are shown that we were Born to Manifest Love.
We might think of IMIX’s innovative thoughts as a Mother’s Way of teaching through bedtime stories. She presents the story of Dog/OC to help us see that as Humans, Love is the thing we are best-equipped to manifest.
A Divine Mother would have us Manifest our Highest Experience of Love. The Dog is a pack animal that recognizes its own happiness is found in serving the well-being of the whole. Dog calls attention to our desire for connectedness. It’s in our Nature to seek an Ecstatic Experience of Love. We yearn for it, dream of it, and search for an experience that Restores our Sense of Connection. Dog’s story shows how we don’t have to search to find Love… that the Power to Manifest Love is in our hands the moment we shift into the Role as the Giver.
Dog/OC demonstrates the Love we would all hope to receive… a Love that is ever Faithful and Present, that places no conditions, nor demands a return, that always sees us in our very best light, over-looking our weakness, and honoring our inherent value. We could spend a lifetime searching for such a loving experience outside of ourselves, when the Power to Manifest this Love lies in our own Hands. This is the Prize that Dog lays at our feet.
When we look at the stories of Love that most inspire us, we might notice that they are stories about Love that is Given. Our Heroes are those who answer a Call to Respond in Service. One of the Greatest Stories of Love Ever Told is about a Personal Sacrifice… an Offering of Love.
As we find a new Way in the world, we are meant to see that we don’t have to search for Love and that our opportunity to experience Love is ever-present. Through our Sacred Right of Choice, the Highest Use of our Mental Discernment, we hold the Power to Manifest Love. Our Powers of Reason tell us that when we want something, we must go searching for it. But, when we rely on our Intellect over Reason, its not hard to see that we Receive Love when we Give it.
When we go seeking love, we are more likely to set conditions on the Love we want to Receive – what it should look like, where it comes from, and how we will discern its authenticity. I would love for Shadow to be a lap cat, but she’s not. She loves standing on her own and whisking back and forth. When she does sit beside me, she prefers absent-minded proximity over my physical contact. Her love is different than mine, but no less beautiful as her authentic expression of it. Instead of seeking love our way, we can recognize we each express Love in our Own Way. (After all, yelling at the kids to get out of the street is an expression of Love.)
To all my relations, may we surrender ourselves to the Highest Experience of Love as the Joy we Experience by Giving. We are made as the Personification of Light. May we remember the Symbol of our Creator, the Sun, is a heavenly body whose Sol intention is to GIVE… Love, Life, and Light.

10 Dog/OC (Cherokee, Wolf/KANA’TI)
Galactic Tone 10: Manifestation. What were once intentions or ideas, hopes or fears become physically present with the energy of Ten. What is focused upon with attention and intention becomes real with Ten. Ten is a powerful energy that carries a great responsibility.
Dog/OC: Courageous, loyal and warm-hearted, very alert and valiant, people born of Dog are respected for their sense of justice and their protection. People born of the sun sign Dog are very sensual and know how to enjoy life. Playfulness and a good understanding of the basic human nature lead to prosperity for Dog. Dogs are good team players who love to travel and have a keen sense of their position in society. Dogs are ambitious and will take opportunities when they offer themselves, including infidelities. Dog persons share the nature of coyotes, spies, wolves and lawyers.
Cherokee, Wolf/Kana’ti – O’Oj: Dog/OC is a symbol of Sirius (Dog star) and Antares; one or the other is always visible but never at the same time. Wolf is our brother, shares our very roots. All dogs are domesticated wolves, companionship and guidance; connecting a link between the worlds; wolf is the day sign associated with teachers, pathfinders and transformers.
