MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 3 brings the energy of movement for the first steps on our path from Point A to Point B. We shift from an inner reflection to an outer expression of our Intention. As we apply movement and breath we give birth to a Dream that takes on a vibration all its own.
Dreams stay dreams until they are brought to the world through the action of communication or movement. Just as the world was created by the spoken word, Wind/IK reminds us of our “power to call into being.”
Sun/AHAU brings a new Light of Understanding. There is more than just empty space between you and me. The Element of Air is our constant connection to each other and to Every Living Thing that has ever been. We share the same Elements of Air contained in the Earth’s atmosphere since the beginning of creation.
As Sun/AHAU calls for our Highest Performance, Wind/IK presents our Highest Power of Creation. I remember from childhood my Father’s “final word” of authority was “Because I said so.” There is Truth in this statement. Nothing becomes Real in our Lives without our Acknowledgement that it is So. Herein, we hold the Power of the Life or Death of our Dreams.
The Cherokee Day Sign of the Whirlwind/AGALU’GA is the 13th Dancer, the ethereal leader in the Dance of the Constellations. Whirlwind reflects the Whirling of Life and the Breath of the Universe. Through our Spoken Words we have the Power to bring Life and Healing to the World.
On our first day of movement, Sun/AHAU would call our attention to the Words We Say to ourselves and to one another. Our shared Dreams and Ideas hold their own inherent Power to Influence others. What we Say is made So by our own declaration. To manifest our desired dreams, we must change our words of “Can’t” to “Can and Will.”
To all my relations, may we use our Words to Acknowledge the Love and Beauty all around us. May we hold the Dream of our Intention in our Heart as we draw the Breath of Life, Light and Healing into a Higher Version of Our Self. May we Birth the Dream of our new Creation by Saying it is So.

3 Wind/IK (Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA)
Galactic Tone 3: Action. Three is basic movement and communication, which begins as a vibration. Three energy is very eloquent in all types of self-expression. Communication is how Three establishes a point of agreement between any point “A” and any point “B”. Three persons are rhythmic to the core and are often restless, as motion is their nature. By working closely with the energy of Three, any person becomes more able to predict motions of all kinds.
Wind/IK: Breath of Spirit, breath of life. Winds embody the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas. Dreamers and planners with powerful imaginations, Wind persons make great orators and they spread the word of spiritual inspiration as it is carried by the wind. Wind is the power behind the movement of natural cycles such as weather, erosion, and cultural change. As the wind, these persons are extremely changeable and adaptable. They may appear inconsistent or fickle to others. Wind can be destructive to self and others by putting on airs. When Winds strut and boast, expanding on facts and accomplishments, they are building the dark clouds of trouble that may become hurricanes.
Cherokee, Whirlwind/AGALU’GA: Whirlwind’s symbol is a double spiral helix in rising smoke. Wind brings energy for an Inquiring mind, learning and wisdom. In Cherokee, the constellations are represented by 12 birds (dancers), the 13th bird is the Whirlwind, the lead dancer. This reflects the whirling of life. Wind is the breath of the Universe (matching the Mayan symbol) channel of communication and carries the Sacred Smoke to the Great Spirit (Source- Hunab Ku in Mayan); matches the pulse of the breath of the Cosmos.
