MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 4 brings the energy of Stability that offers a sense of orientation. Like the rules of a game, Tone 4 establishes the boundaries and parameters of play.
Star/LAMAT is a symbol of Venus, which appears as a Morning Star and Evening Star in cycles of 260-days, correspondent to the Human gestation cycle. LAMAT reminds us that we are made of Stars, and that we are the Personification of Light. By considering the Stars, we can learn something about establishing a stable foundation.
The Cherokee Day Sign is Rabbit, which is also known as Lamat’s totem animal. The Rabbit holds boundless energy as a symbol of fertility, sexuality, and reproduction that is capable to multiply to abundance. The energy of Rabbit multiplies to abundance whatever is focused upon. We are given a Great Power that comes with a Great Responsibility. Today is a day to focus on our Highest Intentions.
GREEN KIN: ELEMENT OF ETHER
The Serpent/CHICCHAN trecena presents 10 Portal Days in a row (Tones 2 thru 12). Portals magnify our experience so we can see things more clearly. Holding open a door to Spirit, we have a clearer vision of ourselves as Beings of Energy and Light.
Stars emanate light in all directions. Bringing the energy to offer abundance, Star’s has the potential to become compulsive and give too much away. When a Star gives out all of its light it collapses into itself. The foundation and stability Tone 4 would bring is in helping to establish our boundaries. We must Love Ourselves in balance with the Love we give away or like a star, we will eventually burn out.
The energy of the Rabbit illustrates this compulsive vulnerability. Rabbit’s heart beats a little faster and its resting temperature is a little higher. Like Deer, Rabbit is highly vigilant. Once Rabbit is seen by its prey, its only power is to escape. This is one of Human’s natural responses when it has given too much.
4 Star/LAMAT would encourage us to see where we have been over-accommodating. When we are in true harmony and balance, we effortlessly emanate the Light of Love. Where we identify ourselves as giving too much, we must question our personal motives. Rabbit demonstrates the ability to hold still, even as it is has the impulse to spring into action. We are asked to hold still in our impulse to give away until we can discern Divine Guidance. We could consider the damage that can be done when Giving becomes Enabling.
Today holds the opportunity and the priority to magnify and multiply our Own Light. The time we would spent in solitary Communion with Spirit would Multiply our Light to Abundance. Our Divine Giving requires a greater investment of effort than any material gifts we offer. We could consider the difference between offering money to someone who needs a meal to actually Sharing a Meal Together. The latter is a gift that honors the Human Spirit and shows value placed on the exchange. The greatest gifts we give are given eye-to-eye and heart-to-heart. These are the gifts of a Divine Calling. We will be better positioned to give what is truly needed through Spiritual Discernment.
Star is laying the foundation that will stabilize our spiritual journey. As a Day Sign of the South, our Awareness is drawn to the purpose of establishing Right Relationship with one another and with the Natural World. Star is a sign of growth and the energy that attracts “pure luck.” Things can come easily. We are not meant to be Driven by a Cause to Give. Instead, we are Caused to Give by focusing on our connection to the Driving Force of Spirit.
Star brings luck to any Intention we focus on. As a Portal connects us to The Ancestors, a focus on our personal correspondence can amplify their Voice of Guidance. We are encouraged to Ask for what we would Receive and Give. They have walked the road of the material world and now exist in the world of spirit. They serve in their Highest Capacity by offering us the right direction.
The glyph that appears as a Star is said to be the hole in the ground where the Seed of Life is planted. Our lives were Seeded by the Stars. This is a day to pray for the fertility that would return the full abundance of our Spiritual Harvest. Star is a day to pray for all things in process of a beginning. It is also the time to ask for the recovery of something that has been lost.
To all my relations, may we recognize the source of our Greatest Abundance is the Power of Spirit. When we are focused on an Intention of Oneness with the Creator, every direction of our Lives will be positioned for its greatest blessing. May we see our own Sacred Intention as a Living Seed with the ability to generate abundance that is multiplied exponentially through each new generation. May we ask the Ancestors for their guidance on how we would maintain our balance in giving and receiving. May we be released from any sense of urgency that would take away from the Joy we are presented in this moment. This is a day to ask for the Blessing of our children and for the following generations. It is Native American tradition to pray for 7 generations forward and 7 generations back. The future we offer our children is born in the Intentions of Today.

4 Star/LAMAT (Cherokee, Rabbit/NOQUI’SEGWA)
Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.
Star/LAMAT: Star energy is multiplication of all things to abundance. Star has been associated with the fertility of rabbits for its ability to multiply. As each sun in the sky, Star persons shine equally in all directions. This natural tendency of harmony and balance can become compulsion, motivating Star to be too agreeable and too generous, rejected gifts cause fear and resentment. When a Star believes it has been given too much, they are weakened or may even collapse. In this “Black Hole” state, Stars are prone to verbal jousting and arguing to force their point of view on everyone.
Cherokee, Rabbit/NOQUI’SEGWA: Symbol-Venus, The Morning Star cycle of 260 days and Evening Star cycle of another 260 days, inspired the 13 numbers, 20 Day sign Sacred Calendar. Rabbit is the Trickster of Cherokee culture, matching the Coyote in other nations. The personification of Light and New Life, Sunrise, the scion (a first-generation descendant) of the Moon-Father of earth children, the Rabbit is fertility, be fruitful and multiply. Represents softness, gentleness and vulnerability. LAMAT– Totem Rabbit. Energies of re-birth, regeneration, ripening, harvest and abundance. This person is overflowing with love energy in all areas of life. Spiritual growth is natural and with ease due to the unconditional love energy that flows.
