7 Earth / CABAN – Recreating our World: Day 7

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

7 Earth / CABAN

Greetings Kin,

Tone 7 is the Peak of a new Spiritual Climb.  The Monkey/CHUEN trecena guides us as the Day Sign that sees the beauty in all things. We are brought into balance by an expanded perception of our Mother Earth. Being One and the Same as her children, the Earth offers an expanded perception of our Self.

At the top of the pyramid we can see the beauty of the Earth in every direction. We could remember how beautifully she balances the days and the seasons of the Natural World. Our Oneness with the Mother means that we are also moved through a Divinely Balanced perpetual course of Change.

Each new dawn we are awakened by new Light, and each season we are called to a new Divine Purpose of Being. A new season is Calling us Back to Life and to a new generation of Understanding.

Throughout the Core Days of the Tzolk’in, we exist within the center of our own Universe. We are the “Tree of Life” that is deeply rooted in Mother Earth, and whose branches connect to the Sky. Spring and Fall are seasons when the sap rises and falls. In the Fall, the Ether of Spirit returns to the below where under a still blanket of snow we dream a new dream. In the Spring, Spirit Rises to Manifest a Harvest.

We are approaching the “Spring” of this trecena. Our work has raised us to our full maturity. The evidence of what we are capable to produce is soon to be seen.

There are times in our life when we can’t see the evidence of our own Growth. Like a pendulum that reaches its farthest extreme, there is a pause before it changes direction. What could look like standing still is actually the point of a dynamic shift from the Energy of Momentum to a Force of Gravity.

At Tone 7 we are asked to reflect on each step of our climb. We’ve been guided to redirect our thoughts so our Dreams for the World could be completed in our Self. Today we have a 360 view that allows us to see how small steps of understanding have elevated our maturity. Each step of our Growth was an Action of our Faith in something that could only be perceived by Spirit. Our steps of Faith is the offering we bring to a Divine Agency. Like an unseen force of gravity, their gift of reciprocity will draw us toward a new Transformation.

Earth/CABAN elevates our awareness to our Correspondence of Movement. The Earth spins, rotates, and leans from side to side in perpetual motion. We stand in a new place from one moment to the next. She can help us to see how we were changing, even as we thought we were standing still.

Earth calls us to the place where we can see our Self. We could spend time in the Natural World and reflect on the flowers we expect to grow. Though the buds have yet to appear, we don’t doubt they will appear. At the deepest levels of our being we Believe in the Magic of the Mother Earth. We don’t question what Earth is capable to produce, even in the death of Winter.  We could discover our own Belief in Earth’s magic is something we overlook because we take it for granted.

We are made of the Earth and we hold the same magic. Monkey asks us to explore our Mother through reflection and curiosity. If we take the time to look up close, we can see all her magical ways of Being.

To all my relations, may we reflect on ourselves as part of Mother Earth. This is the place we were given to Grow. May we Re-Member the Faith of our own Transformation by the same Belief we hold in the promise of a new Spring. May we celebrate the moment where we are received by unseen forces of Spirit that bring a Transformation of Consciousness to the magic in ourselves.

In synchronicity The following article appeared in my inbox as I wrote this post… another reminder that our Communion with Mother Earth offers the Same Blessing we once sought when we ran to the arms of our Mother.

21 DAYS of CEREMONY: 1 Monkey/CHUEN marked 21 days to the K’iche Maya New Year celebrated on 8 B’atz (8 Monkey/CHUEN). Observing 21 days of prayer and sacred ceremony is a traditional preparation for the observance of the Tzolk’in calendar New Year, which is also the Initiation of the Mayan Daykeepers.

CORE DAYS: Kins 121-140 represent the 7th Uinal of Balance, the Core Days of the Tzolk’in as observed by Yucatec tradition. We complete the last 10 days of the Core Days under the Monkey/CHUEN trecena, moving to the 8th Uinal of Justice on 11 Crocodile/IMIX.

7 Earth/CABAN (Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI)

Galactic Tone 7: Reflective. Seven stands as a mirror to divide light and dark and to reflect all that is and is not. Seven is associated with the source of creation and the flow of Divine Will. With a keen sense of ethics, Seven establishes purpose to current and future goals.

Earth/Caban: Earth/Caban: Keeper of the garden of Earth. Profound synchronistic connections to Earth’s natural cycles and energies provide power of creations and memories of ancient wisdom. Earth persons help dispel bad intentions, habits and ideas. This makes them very good counselors and masters of all arts. Studious and intelligent, Earth persons endeavor to bring a flow of natural order to all aspects of life. Being connected to the dynamic forces of nature, Earth persons need much liberty to facilitate their expression of migration or the sending of long distance communications such as the whales, elephants, birds and many other creatures. Sometimes Earth’s delicate sensitivities are upset resulting in quakes of emotion even the display of volcanic temper.

Cherokee, Heron/GUWI’SGUWI: Sign of movement and perpetual motion, Heron is symbolized by Deneb, located in the Northern Cross beside the Milky Way. “The Northern Cross is the Tree of Life, Beside the Milky Way River & Perched atop is Guwi’ sguwi, the Cherokee Heron Spirit Bird, comparable to the Phoenix that rises from the ashes of the past.
