4 Reed / BEN – Quest of Love: Day 4

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

4 Reed / BEN

Greetings Kin,

Tone 4 presents our stabilizing force for the trecena. As the cube presents us with 4 dimension of height, length, depth, and breadth and Mother Earth offers the 4 directions, Tone 4 establishes the form, parameters, and orientation that will support our new Intention. Tone 3 initiated movement, and now Tone 4 gives us a sense of direction.

The Reed is the hollow tube through which our Spirits are connected to the Divine. The glyph’s horizontal line illustrates an altar. Below are the prayer rugs where we kneel in the presence of God, and above are the open channels of Spirit.

Those born as Reed/BEN are said to be the defenders of family and home. They hold the Higher Intention of bringing order, peace, and harmony to all their relations. Reed/BEN is a Day Sign of High Expectations that encourages us to live in the Integrity of our Divine Intentions. Reed shows us a way of living that will help us manifest an Intention of Love.

PORTAL DAY: Element of Ether – Portal Days present a thinning of the veil to other dimensions. These are days when we are capable to Experience our Spiritual Gifts of Intuition and Knowing. Reed/BEN is the Day Sign of spiritual masters and clairvoyants. A portal magnifies a connection to the Creator that is offered through family and home. A portal will stabilize our closest Experience of Love.

Reed/BEN can fulfill Tone 4’s intention of stability by bringing us down to earth. We could consider the idea that “charity begins at home” as we set out on our Quest of Love. We first Dreamed of an Intention and all that it could be. Reed reminds us that we are Divinely Placed for our Highest Intention, and that our Quest of Love will be manifested within the parameters of our Everyday Lives.

Reed/BEN illustrates that Human’s Intention of Love will be born “down on our knees” from a Position of Humility. Home is our Highest Place to learn how to live in integrity. Just as our Love is expanded from the inside out – so will our Intention to Love the World be manifested from an effort that starts at home.

As I considered a new Intention for this trecena, my thoughts began with lofty ideas. Yet, upon awakening I was brought down to earth in the middle of a messy bedroom. Home has taken a back-seat in my pursuit of other Intentions. I suddenly felt a new desire to Love Myself. Spring naturally presents a time to tend our own Garden and to engage in Spring Cleaning. It suddenly feels like an easy, right, and perfect Dog-like thing to do… to find my Joy in the mundane chores of life that would manifest an Expression of Love that I could enjoy close-up and all around me. Spring is here. Dog would revel in the freedom of exploring it with an openness to its opportunity. It feels good that Love can be born of such a simple thing.

Human’s position and orientation reflected by Reed/BEN is down on our knees in a Spirit of Humility. Sometimes our greatest Effort of Love is not seen by the world at all, but accomplished in Solitude in Communion with the Creator. Reed/BEN is defined as a good day to Bless or Repair the Home. I suddenly have a new appreciation that Red/BEN offers a Divine Time that would inspire this very Purpose.

To all my relations, as we are led by Dog/OC may we remember the Joy we were meant to Experience in our everyday lives. May we follow in the footsteps of Dog who would revel in the Beauty of Spring. May we be open to opportunities as they are presented, take life as it comes, and realize the Joy that can be drawn from our everyday experiences. May we recognize an opportunity to Manifest an Expression of Love within the parameters of Home and Family. And, may our Hearts be filled by the Beauty of Spring and may we Receive it as a Divine Gift that was given for us to Love and Enjoy.

in lak’ech, I am another you

4 Reed/BEN (Cherokee, Reed I’hya)

Galactic Tone 4: Stability; the cube is most stable of all forms and establishes volume by definition of height, length, depth and breadth; 4 directions establish orientation. The energy of 4 sets the parameters, which establish the freedoms and barriers needed to create a game, work, or relationship.

Reed/BEN: Reed persons are the spiritual essence, protectors and guiding light for family and home. They are competent speakers who will take up a cause. Very tough and analytical, Reeds endeavor to bring peace, harmony, and order to all of their relations. Reeds are blessed with great skill at negotiations and consoling which are very often put to the test. Although Reeds need a log of appreciation, many have a marriage or business problems because of inflexible views and high expectations, which erode affinity. The lesson of Reed is to be like a garden hose, not a steel pipe.

Cherokee Cherokee, Reed I’hya: Symbol-Reed is the Earth, reflection of the Star Chaga of Pollux. Reed made up the Magician Twins who led the journey to bring back to life the daughter of the Sun. The Casket is Gemini.  Energy for Intellectual minds, creation, re-creation, new directions, breaking the ties that bind.  A trailblazer and leader. From the East, direction of success and happiness, no matter what route is taken, always ending up in the Light.

[Text in italics was the primary source of inspiration for my journal. These are the sources that started my journey and they are the reference for interpretation each day. By providing the original text, I hope to offer a way to see what inspired my thoughts and by including all the aspects – allow for something more to inspire you. Mayan descriptions are those written by Ian Lungold. Cherokee descriptions came from multiple sources. Links to sources and other resources of study are offered on the Daykeeper Resources Page.
