MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL
Tone 6 facilitates the energy for dynamic developments. Tone 6 helps us reach our stride, compared to a great athlete in Peak Performance. As a Tone of Peak Energy, we are capable of Our Highest Performance.
Crocodile/IMIX guides us as a Day Sign that calls awareness to our thoughts. IMIX is known as the sign of Innovation that inspires new ways of thinking. IMIX can help us maintain our momentum through a new means of discernment.
IMIX is the beginning of all things and the Force of Creation. We are capable to find a mental force within ourselves to project us toward our Dream. IMIX is our primordial mother, present at our creation. She knows how we were made and inspires us with her love and encouragement to see all that we are capable of.
11th UINAL: The Intention of the 11th Uinal is Resolution. It’s purpose is Higher Inspiration that would bring new clarity to an understanding. Our experiences over the next 20 days will present us with a “missing piece” that can transform our perspective.
Crocodile/IMIX is known for delivering random thoughts and ideas that seem to come from nowhere. This is a day when we can expect incoming ideas and unrelated thoughts. IMIX is the Day Sign of Innovation, able to shake us out of our conventional way of thinking. IMIX can ignite a new dream, or a dream we had long ago that we could see in a new way.
Innovative thinking is not born of old ideas. We might think of all the “false truth” we’ve discerned. The wild ideas of IMIX can help us revisit a dream as if we’ve never thought of it before.
We could compare this to finding an old plan gathering dust. We may have spent time developing our idea, outlining the major points that we gave up long ago. There may be value in our original thoughts, yet we’d be trying to accommodate thoughts absent of their original inspiration. Our true brilliance comes from passion. IMIX is said to be seen as “genius” when they follow their dream. We’d be better off beginning from scratch – to recreate the whole plan on new ideas and inspiration.
IMIX guides us to innovative ways of thinking that encourages the use of our imagination. Years ago, an expert on strategic planning who trained Special Forces for the military spoke at a conference I attended. He shared a process for building a business plan, based on the power of imagined experience. He spoke about the unexplored magic of the mind. His case study offered an example of someone wanting to start a limousine service. He suggested as the first step to imagine the day when the limo would be picked up from the dealer. Which friends would you take along? Plan the day. Of course you would all go on a drive and out to eat to celebrate. Where would you go? What would you spend on lunch? Would you need something new to wear? He explained that magic happens when your brain sees the dream as real. The plan would be brought together by working backward through experiences that the mind would naturally generate. He dared us to try a simple test on our trip home with a small dream.
It was a lean Christmas. My daughter (19) and I had moved to Seattle together the year before. We had decided against spending money on gifts. She loved to snowboard, and I thought what a wonderful surprise it would be on Christmas Morning. I imagined where we would go, our drive to the mountains, we’d have to stop by the ski rentals for a snowboard on the way out of town. We’d have lunch together, and I’d need money for the ski lift. In all it came to $100 (in 2000). I had $50 and a full tank of gas. I still can’t explain it, but the next day there was $50 in my mailbox. I can’t remember where it came from – it was unexpected. The best I can recall it may have been a refund, though it was sent as cash. It may be the only time I received cash in the mail and it was mailed before my “test.” It made an impression on me about the mystery of our mind.
Experts say the mind can’t tell the difference between experiences real or imagined. And, that the mind automatically attempts to completes the truth it is given. God imagined us and spoke us into reality. It’s hard to comprehend that our Spark of the Creator holds this power, yet this is the same power employed by long-distance healers and shaman.
I haven’t thought of this for a decade. These are the kinds of wild ideas that IMIX would share. In our last season of the Tzolk’in, the Whole Transformation of a 260-day round is starting to build up. The Maya held their Holy Days on the 8th and 9th because they recognized that energies were too powerful toward the end of the trecena… like lightning’s unbridled power. All our trecenas are leading to the 13th Uinal, the magical number of our Divine Connection, the sum of the 7 days and 6 nights of creation. The 11th, 12th, and 13th uinals are the final cycles of new Truth and Understanding. This is an important season to open our minds to new ideas, and to old ideas made new.
To all my relations, may you honor your wild ideas. No matter how strange they may seem. IMIX is working to break through the resistance of our reasoning mind to reach the mystery and magic of our imagination. May we discover our Peak Performance is found by daring to believe in miracles. They say necessity is the Mother of Invention. Our dream could be found in something that’s needed.

6 Crocodile/IMIX (Cherokee, Turtle/ DAK’SI I’SB)
Galactic Tone 6: Flow. Six is responsiveness, and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life.
Crocodile/IMIX: Crocodile receives messages of primal creative force; simply the beginning of all things. Crocodiles who follow their hearts are seen as genius. There is no order to the primal messages, so Crocodile persons should direct their energies toward practical and cooperative efforts to bring productive results. Crocodiles have a strong nurturing energy and will work hard to provide security to family and friends. Being extremely territorial, Crocodiles must watch not to be over protective or too dominating. While in these states, Crocodiles are insecure, indecisive and emotionally volatile.
Cherokee Turtle/ DAK’SI I’SB: Turtle Island; direction East. The Turtle Constellation Orion, one of three stars in the Cosmic Egg. In Mayan is the Cosmic Hearth. Turtle is the Energy of Creative force at the one-on-one, personal level; dawn, awakening, birth. The beginning of each new era, this star in Orion appears with the rising Sun, heralding the creation of a new World cycle. Cherokee, IMIX- Totem-Dragon. The energy to understand all things sacred; creation energy, connection for visions, to learn the mysteries of the Universal Knowledge. The dragon carries the source energy of life, revered in ancient cultures for power and wisdom.
