8 Serpent / CHICCHAN – Quest for Truth: Day 8 of 13

MAYAN CALENDAR DAYKEEPER’S JOURNAL

8 Serpent / CHICCHAN

Greetings Kin,

“Serpent lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself.”

8 Serpent/CHICCHAN is a Holy Day observed by the Kiche Maya as “Serpentine Day,” a day  that honors the Strength of Spirit. The Serpent is a catalyst that fires our Supernatural Senses – our “lightning in the blood.” CHICCHAN ignites an electrical surge through our Being.

The previous trecena, CHICCHAN led us through a portal to the dimension of Spirit, where we would recognize the Power of Authority. The purpose of the Flint/ETZNAB trecena is to help us Realize this Truth through our own experience.

We’ve been called to take dynamic action, directing our Intentions of Light with Authority. Our phase of Spiritual Growth was a Quest for our own Truth of this Power. Each new trecena elevates the Ascension of the last.  CHICCHAN returns in the position of Divine Justice for a direct realization of Authority.

On Peak Tone 8, we can expect a great deal of energy. Peak Days are fruitful for anything we hope to accomplish, aided by Divine Intervention. You could mark the Tone 8’s on your calendar as offering Energy and a Revelatory Experience. The same can be said for CHICCHAN, so together, this can be an electrifying experience.  8 is the “number of pure spirit” as defined by the Kiche Maya. Number 8 also represents Abundance and Infinity.

Serpent/CHICCHAN ignites the Life Force of the Spark of the Creator within. Filled with Spirit by CHICCHAN, we can be Transformed by a Truth that Light has Already defeated the Darkness.

CHICCHAN is a symbol of the Feathered Serpent, Kukulkan (known as Quetzalcoatl by the Aztecs). CHICCHAN is the Light of Spirit within us. Kulkulkan is the Light witnessed descending from Above to the Below at the pyramid of Chichen Itza, the Temple of Kulkulkan. On the Holy Day of 8 CHICCHAN a new Light of Spirit descends upon us.

This is the first Holy Day of the Core Days, the 7th uinal of Balance near the top of the pyramid. This is the day of a Sacred Exchange of Justice between Heaven and Earth. Together the Sun and the Earth created time. Before we were created, a Creator always was. Humanity is Sacred to the Creator for sharing a Dynamic Experience of Being. Our Spark allows us to be of One Mind with the Creator when we make an Offering of our own Will.

The Flint/ETZNAB trecena offers an Ascension on 13 Dog/OC, positioned with Monkey/CHUEN as the very peak of the pyramid, and the Center of the Tzolk’in. Our Quest is leading us toward a new Consciousness of Unconditional Love and our Authority as Creators.

The way of CHICCHAN is to bring a personal revelation, accompanied by a tangible experience of Knowing. We can compare it to Truth that sends energy through our being that leaves goosebumps or stands our hair on end. CHICCHAN is the Kundalini energy that travels up our spine.

Justice is the Creator’s Highest Intention for Transformation. The Creator created us to be Happy and Live in Harmony and Equity. We are having a Dynamic Experience of this promise coming to pass. As the world was formed in darkness, the Creator commanded, “Let there be Light.” The Light conquered the darkness before we were.

An old friend used to say, “The sun is always shining about 2 miles from here.” This was his standard response when someone commented on a rainy day. When asked where, he’d say, “straight up!”

Sun’s Light is always shining on Earth. We only experience the darkness for the while that we are turned away. The Earth doesn’t wait for a Return of Light. She is always in the Presence of Light. She moves to and fro so that every part of her receives a Season of Light.

Taking on the archetype of the Serpent, we would look to our own Senses for the Truth. This is not a time to look outside ourselves for Light that Spirit has seated within. The Truth we can live by must be born through our first-hand experience.  As a creature that sheds their skin, they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing.

To all my relations, may we light the candles on our sacred altars to honor the Light of Divine Spirit. May we accept the Gift of Light that Knows the Battle is Already Won. May our Authority be in the Knowing. May we be changed by a new Truth that every Spiritual Accomplishment is the work of the Creator, through the Oneness of our Spiritual Being.

in lak’ech, I am another you

The 7th Uinal of Balance

The 7th Uinal of Balance

CORE DAYS: The 7th Uinal of the Tzolk’in represent the center column of 20-days, which carry the Intention of Balancing. In the Center we are returned to Unity with the whole as our sense of duality comes into balance.  The Maya believed this to be the axis mundi – the center of the world that connects Heaven and Earth, where the four directions meet; where communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to lower ones and be disseminated to all. The Core Days may be experienced as a time of personal mystery as we recreate ourselves.

Galactic Tone 8:  Justice. Harmony and balance are the intent of Eights carefully weighs all evidence to reach a balance of justice. Eight is the power of organization demonstrated in the statement ‘as above, so below,’ from simplicity to infinity, the energy of eight organizes all levels of creation, some eights are ‘neat freaks.’

Serpent/CHICCHAN: Movement and the creation of time. Sensual and dramatic, this sun sign embodies intense instinctual wisdom and creates a connection from Earth bound, to Heavenly aspirations. By sincere service to others, Serpent opens and expands its heart. Serpent aligns authority and the truth to bring justice that is quick and sure. Serpents are very adaptable, even fluid until trapped in a corner, and then they explode. Serpents, venomous temper poisons itself as well as others by creating resentful, suppressive and even destructive attitudes.

Cherokee, Serpent/DO’TSI: Serpent’s symbol is Constellation Serpens. Serpent people are Sky people who come to earth periodically as Educators. As above-So below, on Earth the Serpent is the roots of the tree of knowledge. Serpent power is vital energy, the moving force, the instinct and desire for creativity, the trigger that sets off the action. It lights the fuse that magnifies and explodes the life force itself. Knowledge, combining science, technology and psychology, plus spirituality are seeded on the planet through the descending Light of the Serpent.
